Loads of good stuff happening and very pleased with how this is all progressing.

The cooker hood was a bit of a challenge as I really need it to vent outside so that it limits steam and smells from cooking.  (We have to remember that nice as this is, the interior of the barge is still an open plan environment, so these things really do matter.)  It could not go straight up because the wheelhouse was above it, so there had to be trunking to the side. The microwave unit also fits in really well.

This picture looks a bit busy, but basically shows the cupboards in the forward cabin/ dinette. There are double bow windows which act not only as an emergency exit, but also ensure excellent ventilation.  Below these windows is a small wardrobe with drawers beneath, and an en-suite off to the right.

The aft cabin is still progressing well with lots of additional fittings in place.

The corridor alongside the engine room showing the built-in freezer and washer/dryer installed.  Alongside these is some wardrobe space, and in the base are some high capacity draws, so lots of useful storage.

The engine room is progressing well with lots of pumps, compressors, batteries, the boiler, calorifier and generator and still lots more to go, plus of course, an engine.

The heating system, whilst compact, is extremely efficient.

The saloon units are starting to look pretty good, and as always Julian continues to exceed my expectations.  The TV is built in with a riser, with just a small opening for the obligatory media devices.  The controls should be well concealed but still accessible

The forward hold now has the hydraulic bow thruster in place and is starting to be floored out. Later on I’ll see if they can set up a workbench for me.  This is going to be such a useful storage and work space.

I like this touch with a sliding gate fitted into the side units.  If we need to control dog access then it just slides across the entrance so that the dogs can be contained to an area overnight or if they are a bit wet.

The forward cabin can be fully opened for use as a dining/seating area; the sliding partition when raised will allow the same area to be closed off as a guest area, virtually self-contained since the ‘day toilet’ will double up as it’s en-suite.
