Probably our last visit
Almost there…..
Updated launch date of 27th April 2017
Transportation, escort, craneage all arranged. The plan is for launch and commissioning on 27th then navigate from Reading to Harleyford on 28th.
Loads of finishing touches are now underway.
The decking is being installed along with most of the work for the internal fixings.
Julian is sorting out blinds and pelmets and much more.
Rob is busy working on the hydraulics for the roof but he took time out to show me the spare connections in the mast, conveniently labelled “spare”.
On the journey to Bluewater we stopped off at Tradline to collect the rest of the ropes, where Karen had made up all the eyes for me and also gave me some lengths of rope to practice my rope splicing skills. Such a helpful lady.
Sharon is waiting for the dog-box blind to be delivered but otherwise, just finishing touches.
The flooring is also being installed tomorrow.
On looking round we found the bedside cupboards now had mirror doors. The mystery of who had suggested this has never been solved, but we are perfectly happy with them and they will prove very useful.
The red blind has been installed in the en-suite, which is supposed to match the floor tiles and contrast against black fittings. It looks the business.
There is a slight problem with the wrong mirror being fitted in the en-suite but a replacement is on order.
Four 250 watt solar panels have been stuck onto the wheelhouse roof and these should help to source some free power and help with independence from shore supply/generator.
LED lights installed which should illuminate the rear deck.
Bow decking looks good and Nicki seems very pleased with the colour – yes, it does look great.
Great work by the guys for the rear cabin shutters. It seemed like a good idea to have shutters rather than curtains, blinds or stoppers, but sorting that out against a sloping stern seemed to be quite a puzzle. The solution, to add a new vertical face. The shutters should fit well and look great and the shelf between the internal and external shutters will be able to hold objects without any disturbance.
