Keukenhof pictures
Spent a lovely couple of days in Lisse (a town south west of Amsterdam, known for the Keukenhof gardens, which has millions of spring-flowering bulbs and outside of town, pedestrian and bike paths wind around flower fields in the country’s tulip-growing region.) Our first day there and we cycled around some of the many bulb fields taking lots of pics of all the beautiful tulips. Our second day we spent several hours at the Keukenhof gardens admiring all the flowers and exhibitions. And it wasn’t all just tulips, there were orchid and amaryllis displays too. It’s hard to believe the number of varieties and colours – there’s even a variety of tulip called Nicolette, although we didn’t come across that one. Managed to walk over 16000 steps while we were there.
