2020 Stats
Despite the many and various restrictions imposed on travel due to the Coronavirus, we managed to travel to at least 49 locations in Belgium and the Netherlands – just as for everyone else, travel couldn’t begin on 1st April and we ended up waiting until 17th May before there was the possibility of leaving Flandria jachthaven – even then we were restricted by lock closures which meant we had to remain within a relatively small cruising area in the first instance.

Since starting out from Flandria on 17th May through to our final day on 15th October we have managed a grand total of 145 days cruising on Shensi in 2020! Not forgetting the 178 engine hours of travel.
Mooring costs were much less this year – due to Coronavirus, almost all (if not all) of the moorings in Belgium were free, which made quite a difference to our expenses, and at a rough guide amounted to c. 850 euros.
Visitors this year were Stuart and Sara, Amy and Sam, Alec (a surprise for their mum, and also to celebrate their dad’s 70th birthday with him), followed a little later by Jane and Bob, who stayed with us until we returned to the UK (via Brugge, staying with Janos and Rachel on their shiny new boat for our last two nights).
