2023 turned out to be a short cruising year for Nicki and myself, but from starting our cruising on 3rd April until our last day on the water of 25th July (some 113 days) we only managed 210 engine hours of travel this season, from Reitdiephaven, Groningen in the Netherlands, into Belgium and then in France – our first water-based experience in that country, despite our many years of visits to the Alps.

Netherlands:- Groningen (North Holland), Taarlo (Assen), Hoogersmilde (Drenthe), Veenesluis (Drenthe), Dieverbrug (Drenthe), Paraadijssluis (Meppel), Zwartesluis and De Ketting (both on Zwartewater), De Goot (Ganzendiep kanaal), Kampen (Overijssel), Ketelhaven (Dronten), Lage Vaart (outside of centre of Almere) Hoge Vaart onto the Vecht, Weesp, Noordensluizen (close to Utrecht), Vianen, Biesbosch, Willemstad, Tholen, Yerseke, Oostsluis Ternheuzen, Sluiskil.
Belgium:- Stropbrug Gent, Aalst, Ninove, Ecluse de Deux Acren, Ath, La Deuze, Peruwelz (Pont de Vermontois), Ecluse 1 Peronne, Antoing.

In terms of costs, we spent roughly €640 on mooring fees (although that does not include the wintering fee at Reitdiephaven 22/23).
